The Stables Lodge on the Mount Cashel estate were built initially in 1850 and renovated in the early 2000’s. The Stables are self-catering and have been inspected and awarded a 4 Star rating by Failte Ireland. The accommodation is approached via a private courtyard.

The entrance door leads to the dining room. The living room has a wood burning stove, 4-piece suite, satellite TV and free broadband internet connection. The lodge has oil fired central heating throughout. French doors open out onto a private patio, lawn and woods with views and direct access to Castle Lake. The Stables has 4 bedrooms all with en-suite shower and toilet facilities.

The area abounds with excellent golf courses, which range from within 10 minutes to one hour’s drive from the lodges. Championship golf courses in the area include Lahinch, Doonbeg, Ballybunion, Shannon, Dromoland, Limerick, Limerick County, Adare and East Clare. Take a look at our Activities page for more information.

Don't Take Our Word For It...

“When you stay at Roundwood, you travel in time, to a place where you felt free of stress, free of pressure, free of demands, with nothing to concern you other than what volume to pluck from the library shelf, and what gin to choose for a drink, and what wine to choose to match with Paddy’s excellent cooking at dinner…”

McKenna’s Guides: Top 100 Places to Stay in Ireland

“If Roundwood has just come up in your search, and if you’re trying to avoid a bland, cookie-cutter hotel experience, book it now. You’ll never forget it! The family and the staff are friendly, attentive and kind and you’re likely to swap stories with the most interesting of fellow guests. This is our first visit since we held our wedding ceremony and celebration there 4 years ago and we’ll be back as often as we can ♥️”
