Cycling in Ireland

For more than twenty years the houses of Hidden Ireland have shown visitors a slower, more relaxed and more complete experience of Irish country life. Now they have taken over Celtic Cycling, a small company which provides bespoke cycling tours for couples and small groups in the South East of Ireland.

Just like Hidden Ireland, Celtic Cycling takes people off the beaten track and gives them a fuller and more complete insight into the Irish countryside. The two organisations are highly compatible and together they offer a considerably enhanced visitor experience, combining carefully crafted bespoke cycling tours of Ireland with the best in Irish country house accommodation.  With Celtic Cycling you plan your own itinerary and you don't have to fit in with other members of a tour. You start when you like and go at your own pace - so it is all very relaxing. You can stop to visit a garden or a ruined abbey, sit on the parapet of a bridge watching the trout below, visit a craft shop, have a seafood lunch in a delightful country pub or just stop for a rest and watch the world go by. You will be travelling on small, less frequented roads and our highly detailed guide books will help you to discover all the wonderful things and places along the way, many of which you would otherwise have missed.

At present our tours are all based in the South East, in the valleys of the rivers Barrow, Nore, and Suir, traditionally the sunniest and driest part of Ireland - but plans are firmly afoot to develop this to other areas quite soon and details of any new areas will immediately be posted on our website.

Cycling in Ireland is the perfect way to discover corners of this beautiful country you would otherwise have missed.  And, when you have finished your cycling tour, not have a quiet break for a few days in another of Hidden Ireland's private country houses, to relax after all that hard work!
