Restored in 1999, the contains a mix of exciting and unusual features. It splits into two sections that can either accommodate 3-4 guests using just one bedroom or 7-8 guests using two bedrooms with the adjoining suite. Guests staying in the Coach House or Garden Suite on a self catering basis have access to our 7 acres of gardens. We have a lovely wooden play frame with slide and swings by our tennis court and our toddler play area and table tennis near the garden conservatory which serves light lunch and sweet treats through out the day and of course our indoor heated swimming pool all of which are complimentary to you when you stay at kilmokea.
The ground floor contains a large Drawing room/Kitchen with a wonderfully high vaulted ceiling housing the Minstrel's Gallery. It has a modern kitchen which is equipped to the highest standards with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. The Coach House has a colour TV, Sky, Video and a CD music system, oil-fired central heating and an open fire place.
Upstairs there are two large bed-rooms; the 'Orchard' triple room (double & two singles) together with en-suite bath & shower; and 'the Tulip Suite' a large master bedroom with a king-size double bed and en-suite bath & shower. A set of double doors leads you into a twin bedroom / private drawing room looking out over the walled gardens. (This room is a real gem. You can be curled up reading one of those novels which you have saved up for your holiday and your family can be playing a rather loud game of Monopoly downstairs, and you will not be disturbed!).
Electricity and central heating are not included in the price, but are charged at cost. There are telephones in both bedrooms which give you access to the outside world (these calls will be billed to you upon checking out) as well as providing you with internal contact with the main house giving you up to date information about lunches served in the Conservatory, Dinner in the formal dining room and booking of the leisure facilities at Kilmokea.
